While TAK is an independent organisation it has association agreements with several larger consultancy groups that call on TAK's expertise when needed. TAK also collaborates at times with other like minded consultants that may have additional expertise such as logistics analysis or to cope with larger consulting projects requiring a team effort to complete when deadlines are tight. Throughout a career spanning more than 44 years Ted has been involved with the industrial minerals sector. After graduating with an honours degree in geology from Edinburgh University he gained a masters degree in Mineral Exploration fro
TAK Industrial Mineral Consultancy was formed in 1993 by Ted Dickson and he remains as the principal. Throughout a career spanning more than 44 years Ted has been involved with the industrial minerals sector. After graduating with an honours degree in geology from Edinburgh University he gained a masters degree in Mineral Exploration from the Royal School of Mines in London, culminating in a thesis on the economic geology of British clays. He then expanded his knowledge of industrial minerals and their markets by joining the prestigious Industrial Minerals magazine spending 6 years in the London office followed by a further 6 years in New York rising to the level of American Editor. On returning to the UK he joined Cluff Resources, a junior gold mining company that was looking to diversify into industrial minerals. A three month consultancy evolved into a five year job, during which he worked on projects from grass roots exploration to acquisition of projects and companies. He has had a considerable number of publications throughout his career and has presented papers at prestigious international conferences. WIth such a long career in the sector he has built up a considerable network of contacts in the industry.
